Lambertville, NJ – On Saturday, December 9, 2007, an eclectic marketplace of handmade jewelry, fine art and fashion created exclusively by local artisans will comprise the main showroom at America Antiques and Design located at 5 South Main Street in Lambertville.

“There is no better gift to give someone this year than an original piece of artwork, or an antique that’s rich in history,” said David Teague, owner of America Antiques and Design. “This will be the perfect event for people who are looking for more meaningful ways to express themselves this season. The gift ideas we’ll be offering are one of a kind. They tell stories of their unique origins and designers, and most importantly, their purchase supports local artisans.”

The showroom will feature a diverse assortment of items, including handmade jewelry, clothing and paper goods, as well as paintings, sculpture and antiques. The event will take place from 6:00-9:00 p.m., and will include a live music performance by members of New Hope Collective, a consort of Bucks County performing artists spanning dance, visual art and music. the fashion show /gallery / party thing was all we had hoped. a really cool mix of people once again. this time the food was provided by Alex from "RICKS" right here in Lambertville. the Huge shrimp were amazing. we had to pull people away from the 19th century Italian marble table laden with the healthy spread.

Painter, and kendralove. jewelry, clothing and of course the big stuff for your house, office or whatever. They'll be cool music and videos, and as usual, an interesting mix of people. you've heard about these things before....don't miss it this time.

This week I had the pleasure once again, to work with designer
Morrie Breyer. (Morrie was my first customer ever!)
Morrie’s clients, David and Nikko purchased a beautiful farm in Solebury township.
With Morrie’s help, they have been transforming it into a masterpiece.
It will be photographed, and published in the near future. more to follow.
On Tuesday Mr. Christian and I installed our first “mechanized” clocktower dial in this wonderful setting. We have been working on the development of this movement for over a year. We couldn’t be happier with the results. The motor is beautiful to look at, keeps great time, and is very quiet. Thanks to Ed Roland, Pete Miller and of course, Christian Mathesson.
I can’t tell you the number of times a client has asked, “do these clocks work?” well, now they can. (notice the mechanism in the photo above)

also new and noteworthy, America Antiques received an award from “Philadelphia Magazine” for “best antiques/shopping”. check out the August issue of the magazine. My sister Rebekah attended the awards ceremony for me in September (I was doing the Hampton’s Show) and said the magazine did a fantastic job. Put out a nice spread!

I should be writing this from Mexico, but mother nature in the form of a hurricane intervened, and that trip has been postponed.

Thanks, once again, to interior designer, Judy King for mentioning us in a recent article. The story about her Princeton home appeared in the October issue of Philadelphia Magazine. love the story, and appreciate the P.R., Judy.

Look for “America” in today's New York Post. They did an article about Lambertville, and shot some pictures here last week.
I finally got my centerfold! full color, no staple.

Also, YET AGAIN, “Philadelphia Magazine” features us in the December 2002 “Ultimate Shopping Guide”. The article mentions a clocktower dial installed in the garden of a Greenwich Village townhouse designed by Manuel Noriega-ortiz. I am especially proud of that clock dial, as i put it together from various 19th century zinc and iron tower parts. it looks stunning on the garden wall surrounded by ivy.
The house with the clock was also shown in the A&E show; HOUSE BEAUTIFUL.

Thanks again, David

Hello again,
It’s been too long I know.
No excuses. Let’s just move forward.
I ’m writing this as i sit in traffic on the LIE.
Not my favorite place to be.
We’re on our way to the Hampton's to do the “BRIDGEHAMPTON ANTIQUE SHOW”
for the second time this summer.
The first show in May was very good.
(thanks in part, to Christie and Ralph.)

I’m looking forward to seeing the old gang.
If you’re out this way, drop in. It’s a great looking show. Quality dealers from all over the country.
also, make a point to stop at R.E. STEELE ANTIQUES in East Hampton. it’s one of the best shop’s in the country. you’ll see Rusty’s stuff featured in some of the world’s finest interiors.
It’s located in the RED HORSE PLAZA.
Speaking of interiors, the August 2002 issue of COUNTRY HOMES AND INTERIORS, has finally hit the streets (LONDON).
It has six pages on my farmhouse in Pennsylvania.
All shot by “old school” photographer Bobby Smith.
Bobby stumbled into the gallery last year, and stayed for three days.
i’ll be doing the same in his London flat very soon.
(be forewarned Bobby)

2/20/02

The trip to Thailand was a huge success. The Thai people were the highlight of my trip. It is indeed the "land of smiles" Thanks to DiDi and Superporn for being my most excellent tour guides. I was able to pick up some very interesting things in my travels. We will be bringing them into the gallery in the next few days, so pay attention. (I know I should have spent more time shopping for you but... I was having WAY too much fun)

I'm also happy to report that, "ARCHITECTURAL DIGEST" magazine was here last week to shoot the gallery. They expect us to appear in the May issue. A personal thanks to Tom Britt, Scott Frances, Mike Strohl, and of course, Vallantino. Kendra and Michele, put out a wonderful buffet for the photo shoot, thank you sooo much. Several of my designs were included in the shots, as were many clock dials from the black forest collection.

Meanwhile....the New York City cable show, "UNBLINKING EYE" has been in heavy rotation on NY1. They shot an episode here in Lambertville back in October, and quite a bit of it was shot here in the gallery. It also featured the clockface collection. (and me) Check it out.

It was good to hear from my friends in London, Penny and Paul, and of course Bobby Smith. (a rumor has surfaced regarding a recent photo shoot of a certain farmhouse in Solebury Pa. being featured in a coming issue of England's "COUNTRY HOME" magazine, i'll keep you posted) Thanks Bobby.

Oh yes! last but not least...don't forget to check out next months "NEW JERSEY LIFE" magazine. "Regan S. Hofmann...you are the best, and by the way, what does the S stand for?"

David.

12/22/01

Well, tomorrow I leave for Thailand. 18 days roaming the countryside, looking for more treasures. (Yes, I know, business first, pleasure later) Misty, April, and Michele will be here taking care of the gallery. We'll be closed Christmas and New Year's day. Otherwise, pop in and keep the girls busy.

As of today, it looks like the Gramercy Park Decorative Arts show will happen. So, hopefully we'll see you in the city on January 18th, 19th, and 20th. (Check www.stellashows.com for confirmation)

Thanks to everyone who contributed to the WTC scholarship fund. It was very much appreciated.

The last of the donated dog food will be delivered to the local SPCA on Christmas Eve.

Happy Holidays!

David.

10/1/01

last week I had the opportunity to visit some friends and clients in New York City. Jann, has an antique shop on Mott street. www.sinotique.com A few blocks from the World Trade Center. Where it was. He is doing well. His shop had remained closed for three weeks. He still loves New York. He's lived his entire life in Chinatown. He travels often, all over the world. He said he would never want to live anywhere else. It was good to see him. I visited a firehouse on 13th street, near the W hotel, where I stayed. They lost most of their members on the 11th. I walked past everyday. I talked to a few of them. I thanked them. American hero's.

The day I came back, one of my favorite clients came in to the gallery. She lost her husband in the tower. Leaving her with three small children.
For the rest of the year, a portion of our Internet sales (30%) will go to a scholarship fund for her three children.
Please feel free to call with any questions.

Also, we will be celebrating our 10th year of business, at the gallery. Stop in and join us.

Thank you,

David Teague.
